Our team of exceptional public health and development specialists, software developers, engineers, and field staff apply their experience in technology development, implementation, and global healthcare delivery to further public health and wellbeing.

Position Description

Dimagi is currently working with its partners to transform some of the largest community health programs in the world through digital technology, and our work in India is at the forefront of these initiatives. In the next few years, we will dramatically improve healthcare delivery at scale in South Asia for hundreds of millions of people. We are looking for a Country Director to lead our world-class team through the exciting times ahead. The responsibilities of this person will include the following:


  • Lead Dimagi’s India strategy, in close collaboration with Dimagi’s global management team and CEO – both in defining this strategy and working with the team to operationalize it
  • Ensure effective operationalization of strategic objectives across functional teams and areas
  • Coordinate strategy with other country offices and our global technology, operations, and partnerships teams
  • Help shape and inform the future vision of an award-winning socially conscious technology company and industry leader in mHealth services


  • Build strong relationships with strategic partners: governments, funders, program implementation partners, etc.
  • Be a powerful representative for Dimagi at key conferences and events
  • Keep stock of the mHealth landscape in the region and our positioning within it
  • Contribute to the advancement of the mHealth sector as a whole through dialogue, partnerships, and the exchange of lessons learned with others, both within and outside of India


  • Oversee Dimagi’s role on national scale programs in the region, including the largest Frontline Digital Program in the world. This includes point of escalation and guidance for project directors, as well as working with senior staff to handle strategic and critical partner meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement for efficiently delivering better, higher impact programs at greater scale, year over year
  • Develop, implement, and share delivery strategies and best practices with Dimagi’s program teams around the world


  • Build and maintain a culture that is both results-oriented and team-oriented, as per Dimagi’s values of “Impact, Team, and Profit – In that order”
  • Innovate and improve on our existing team structure to ensure that we have the right people and skills to drive the success of our ambitious and ground-breaking work
  • Oversee management of Dimagi’s 40 plus person team in India
  • Ensure the team is motivated, engaged, and empowered to achieve our strategic objectives

Required experience, skills, and qualifications

  • 12+ years of work experience
  • 5+ years in a management position, preferably shepherding a department or small organization through periods of significant growth and expansion
  • Demonstrated experience in managing million-dollar complex projects, with proven ability to work effectively with diverse partners
  • Experience representing externally to senior stakeholders across public, social, and private sectors
  • Experience working with the Indian government
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle and experience managing the delivery of software projects: Appetite and ability to grasp and apply complex technical concepts.
  • Experience managing a diverse, multicultural team
  • Expert multitasker
  • Comfort with unstructured problems and ability to manage complexities under pressure
  • Outstanding communication and email management skills
  • Collaborative leadership style
  • Degree in engineering, technology, or other relevant fields
  • Fluent in oral and written English


  • Experience working in digital health
  • Previous experience managing a country office
  • Fluency in Hindi
