Jensen loves food. Not only is it a delicious biological necessity, it is a universal language and a vehicle of personal and cultural expression.
After graduating from Siena College in his home state of New York with a B.A in English Literature (and concentrations in Spanish, Psychology, and Environmental Science), Jensen relocated to Guinea, West Africa to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer. 8 months into his service, he and 339 other Volunteers from Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia were evacuated due to the outbreak of the Ebola virus. Shortly after this, Jensen found his way back to West Africa and began as National Malaria Coordinator for Peace Corps Senegal, where he collaborated with the Dakar Dimagi office on several CommCare for malaria projects.
Jensen is joining Dimagi’s India office as a Field Manager, where he will be supporting the global services team’s impactful ICT4D projects. He is thrilled to be reconnecting with his roots in India (through culinary/natural exploration), and to be working with people who are as passionate about social justice and tech as he is.
Other non-food interests include learning languages, writing, hip-hop, lifting, alternative electronic music, cartoons, and meeting and conversing with animals (mostly dogs). He is a native English speaker who also speaks French, Spanish, and rudimentary Malayalam and Pulaar.
