About the position:

Dimagi is looking for a Corporate Contracts and Operations Manager to lead corporate initiatives across Dimagi entities worldwide. Understanding Dimagi's business interests and risks, this position is expected to optimize Dimagi's internal operations across various areas, including: general corporate compliance, including maintenance of business registrations and corporate insurance; contracting, including contract reviews, contract negotiations, and contract compliance; management of legal resources, including external counsel; and advancing Dimagi's strategy towards these and related areas. The Corporate Contracts and Operations Manager will also work across teams to increase efficiency in existing corporate processes and develop solutions to tackle new challenges to Dimagi's business operations as it scales.

This position will be based in our New Delhi office and report to the Senior Director of Corporate Operations. While the job is based in New Delhi, the Corporate Contracts and Operations Manager is expected to work reasonably across time zones to support the needs of each of our offices across Africa and the Americas. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in corporate compliance or general operations who wants to work for an impact-focused organization and is excited by the challenges of managing corporate operations on a global level. Proven experience in a global organization in the Development or Tech sectors is highly desired.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Contracting
    • Manage end to end internal processes around drafting and reviewing contracts
    • Review external contracts to align with Dimagi requirements and minimize Dimagi liability, and drive to execution
    • Draft new agreement templates as needed
    • As needed, negotiate with contracting and legal teams of other parties to reach a favorable agreement for Dimagi
    • Set expectations with Dimagi project teams to manage to contract requirements
  • Legal and Compliance Strategy 
    • Work with the Senior Director of Corporate Operations to identify and prioritize items for the corporate compliance roadmap
    • Grow into knowledge expert for Dimagi staff in areas like open-source intellectual property, licensing, copyright, trademarks, and independently drive initiatives to advance Dimagi's approach in these and other relevant areas
  • Legal Resource Management
    • Maintain resources for legal counsel as needed 
    • Serve as a resource to Dimagi teams (e.g., Finance, People Operations) to address matters with legal implications 
  • Corporate Compliance and Risk Management
    • Maintain corporate registrations, licenses, and other required accounts across Dimagi entities
    • Ensure Dimagi maintains appropriate insurance to manage compliance requirements and business risks
    • Respond to corporate audit requests including from funders and clients
  • Do all of the above and more, while maintaining Dimagi's mission and culture!

Who You Must Be:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience in a managerial role
  • Experience in 
    • Contract Administration
    • Workflow Design, Improvement, and Automation
  • Produces detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to acquire job knowledge through research, practice, and exposure, e.g., contract reviews
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Works independently with initiative to manage high volume and sensitive workflows
  • Interacts with diplomacy and tact, and follows-up on requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Resourceful through technology, research, and relationship-building among several organization teams, units and professional organizations
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve using a collaborative approach with a variety of work functions and cultures
  • Able to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Corporate issues or projects and use judgment and decision-making to carry out duties and responsibilities
  • Possesses working knowledge of relevant software, including Google Apps and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new software tools as needed to maximize the efficiency of the role

  • Fluency in written French, Spanish, or Portuguese
