Google.org - Analyzing the Impacts of COVID-19 on Frontline Worker Programs

Google.org has selected Dimagi & Medic Mobile to receive funding as part of the company’s efforts to support projects using innovative Al and data analytics to help organizations improve their response to COVID-19.

Together, Dimagi and Medic Mobile are working on a shared analytics roadmap to build and deploy new modules for tailored support for FHWs with the objective of improving continuity and quality of care in the hardest-to-reach communities. This project will focus on improving retention, engagement, and coaching, while also supporting COVID-19 response efforts around the world. The resulting work will also contribute to a wide range of existing Medic and Dimagi-supported frontline programs. This effort builds upon a grant from Rockefeller Foundation that launched the partnership between Medic Mobile and Dimagi to collaborate, initially on COVID-19.

The funding for this partnership is part of Google.org’s $100M commitment to COVID-19 relief efforts and organizations were selected through a competitive, merit-based review process. The funding focuses on key areas of significant need, with an emphasis on near-term impact and solutions for vulnerable populations. Focus areas include health equity, disease spread monitoring and forecasting, frontline health worker support, secondary public health effects, and privacy-preserving contact tracing efforts.
