App Acting Up? Check the CommCare Status Page

At Dimagi, we work hard to keep service interruptions at a minimum, but like anyone else, we do experience outages from time to time. Typically it’s just a small window of scheduled maintenance, which we try to do during non-working hours. If we do have an unplanned outage, we aim to keep your data safe and secure and get things back up and running as soon as possible! While we’re at it, we want to communicate with clarity and transparency so you’re never left in the dark if things aren’t running as expected.

As such, we’re excited to announce our new Status Page: status.commcarehq.org, where you will find real-time information about the availability of our site and its components, status updates on service interruptions and scheduled downtime or maintenance. Scroll down for more information on how to leverage our Status Page to keep on top of updates!

System Status

Here, you’ll be able to see the current status of CommCare HQ. An all green “All Systems Operational” bar indicates that our site and all its components are working as expected.

We will be providing real-time updates on the status of CommCare HQ on both our servers, www.commcarehq.org & india.commcarehq.org. Additionally, we will also provide information on the status of each of our components on CommCare HQ. Simply click on the desired server to expand and view the status of each of our components!

Outages and Incidents

CommCare HQ is a complex environment comprising of various components working together to deliver services to our users. While we work very hard to keep outages at a minimum, there are times when we face unexpected issues on our systems.

Should there be any service interruption on our site, we will post real-time updates on the issue, including information on which components of our site have been affected.

Updates on the affected components will be provided in real time. This will help our users to continue working on other areas of the site while staying on top of the resolution status of the issue.

Scheduled Maintenance Updates

From time to time, we schedule maintenance on our servers to ensure that our systems are performing at their best. When we do this, we will let our users know well in advance, under the Scheduled Maintenance section of our Status Page

We aim to provide you a notice well in advance, which will help you plan your activities accordingly, thus enabling you to minimize the impact of the maintenance on your project.

Past Incident History

In this section, you will be able to view the history of any past incidents or maintenance that occurred on our servers.

Should you receive any complaints from your users claiming to have experienced an issue accessing CommCare in the past, you will be able to make use of this section to confirm if there were any reported incidents that may have affected your users.

Subscribing to Alerts

Subscribing to alerts on our Status Page is unfortunately not available at this time. However, we will continue to concurrently post updates on our Community Forum as well. You and your team can sign up to be notified of any service interruptions or scheduled platform maintenance under the Maintenance and Downtime Category. Simply follow the directions on this help page to know more on how to subscribe for these alerts!

Our new Status Page is geared towards our mission of providing our users with the world’s most powerful mobile data collection platform! Over the coming months, we’ll continue to build on this theme, so you can keep building your trust in us! We hope this page will help our users understand what’s happening when things don’t quite go as planned. We will be using a third-party provider for our Status Page. Even if we have a major outage across our platform, we’ll still be able to communicate and send updates through this page!
